TALA METHODOLOGY

TALA Soccer Training is intentionally designed to create a positive, motivational learning environment where self-assessment meets facilitated training to identify and achieve individualized learning outcomes resulting in holistic player growth and development.

TALA Soccer Training begins with the end in mind. Through individually designed goal-oriented sessions our coaches provide progressive training activities that are adaptive, holistic, game-like, and based on the principles of teaching and learning. In fact, our passion for evidence-based teaching and learning is so much of who we are, it is the origin of our name.

TALA: Teaching And Learning Academy (TALA) Soccer Training.

Through our teaching and learning approach to player development, TALA Soccer Training is designed to encourage a love and passion for learning and playing the game through reality-based, experiential game-like sessions that exercise the technical, tactical, physical, social, and cognitive pillars of soccer concurrently.

At TALA Soccer Training our players develop the knowledge, skills, awareness, mindset, and cues and clues associated with the key player actions, key player qualities, and specific player behaviors necessary to accomplish their pre-identified areas of improvement and soccer-related goals. TALA Soccer utilizes principles associated with ecological dynamics, tactical periodization, and an O.L.I Methodology of training session design to transition each player through an Orientation, Learning, and Implementation phase of holistic player development.

orientation - learning - implementation

To best create a safe and reflective learner-centered soccer environment, TALA Soccer utilizes a 3C approach to facilitating a positive and developmental atmosphere full of reflection and feedback loops intentionally designed to promote autonomous learning based on the goals of each individual player, small group, or team session.

Cooperation

We learn through collaboration between player and coach,
coach and player,

player to player,
coach to coach, Coach to Family,
Player to family
,
FAMILY TO FAMIlY

Competition

We use each training session to consistently compete against, develop, and improve our personal best through the promotion of self-awareness and self-reflection from constructive coaching and feedback loops leading to increased autonomous self-correction and self-regulation resulting in improved skill acquisition, self-confidence, and a deeper understanding of the principles of the game.

Courage

We learn through
success and challenge with the understanding that personal and player development
is not a linear process but
a journey of self-determination, resilience, reflection, and
self-awareness.

"I try to work to improve myself everyday and I try to do on the pitch what I do during training sessions."

Player and coach

TALA Soccer coaches create a positive, supportive, challenging, and motivational learning environment intentionally designed to develop players' knowledge, skills, and awareness surrounding the game of soccer. The dynamic process of teaching and learning requires players and coaches to identify a shared training session goal and learning objective. Once established, a TALA coach will create a variety of adaptive, game-like activities to provide the player(s) with an environment to learn the desired outcome through repetition, contextual understanding, and active learning. During breaks in play, the players and coaches will engage in a process of reflection to assist in connecting the activity to the larger context of the game while developing players' self-awareness and self-corrective process of development. Each session provides players the opportunity to reflect on what they did well, what they want to continue to develop and improve, and what they have learned.

Experience - Reflect - Conceptualize - adapt - apply
