goalkeepersessions

TALA Goalkeeper sessions are offer
as 1:1 Sessions, small-group sessions,
and in partnerships with soccer clubs seeking to provide
goalkeeper specific sessions.

TALA Goalkeeper Sessions are specifically designed to meet the age-appropriate, developmental needs of the GK position and are offered as 1:1 sessions, small-group sessions, and in partnership with local soccer clubs seeking to provide goalkeeper specific training opportunities. Prior to creating your first 1:1 GK session players and/or families are asked to complete a goalkeeper-specific self-evaluation/reflection. The player and family will then talk with TALA Soccer Lead Coach Jeff Ryan to identify their technical, tactical, physical, and cognitive areas of individual strength, and areas they wish to develop. In addition, players are asked to identify a few individual and team related soccer-specific goals. The time in conversation will assit TALA in identifing each individual player's learning preferences, learning styles, and internal and external sources of motivation. This information will be utilized in the planning and design of each session to most effectively assist each individual player in reaching competency within their preidentified areas of development and improvement. TALA Soccer Training is committed to creating a learning environment dedicated to indidivual player-cetered holistic development.

Each TALA goalkeeper session is intentionally designed around a position-specific topic within a unique moment of the game in relation to the player's self-assessment. Modern soccer goalkeepers represent the first line of attack and the last line of defense on their team. With this in mind, foot skills, decision-making, positioning, and communication skills are incorporated into each goalkeeper session. TALA Soccer coaches understand that goalkeeping is a unique in consideration of the rules of the game, the physical and mental demands associated with the position, and the position specific training that dramatically varies from field player sessions. In addition to teaching technical and tactical goalkeeper-specific knowledge, skill, and awareness, TALA goalkeeper sessions provide an intentional framework to develop positive self-talk, resilience, effective communication skills, a growth mindset, a next play mentality, self-regulation, and a personal reset.
